On Wednesday all of 3rd class had a very enjoyable visit to Corlea Visitor Centre. Guided by Mr. Brennan and the centre tour guides we were shown a bog oak statue of Midir from the Irish legend of 'Etain & Midir' and learned about his story.
We found and identified bog cotton, moss, heather, gorse, lichen, caterpillars, slugs, silverbirch trees.
Listened for bird sound and tried to hear the cuckoo.
In the centre we learned about the type of people who built the original trackway, how they lived and how they managed to create a structure that still is intact thousands of years later.
